A Professional Printmaking & Book Arts Center

Based on the centuries-old tradition of the atelier, Atelier 6000 is a center for an energetic community of artists, working collaboratively, sharing ideas, technique and process – it’s a place for learning and inspiration; a studio-workshop where students from all lifestyles, from absolute beginners to professional artists learn directly from master artist teachers.

Printing Green

A well-equipped studio, A6 has 2000 square feet with three presses for plate lithography, etching, and monotype. Dedicated to sustainable practices, A6 prints with less toxic and “green” materials using soy-based water-soluble inks; no caustic chemicals or acids usually associated with printmaking are used during the print process.

Artist Residencies and Community Classes

Sponsored by Atelier 6000, guest artists participating in the Artist in Residence program travel from throughout the northwest to present workshops in bookarts, print techniques, encaustic printmaking and more. Community classes are open to the public and college courses are offered through COCC and Oregon State University in the open studio environment of Atelier 6000. Instructors include full-time studio artists as well as professors from colleges and universities.

Contemporary Gallery and Exhibits

A6’s presentation gallery is transformed each month exhibiting original, inspired exhibitions featuring local artists, artist in residence works, outsider artists and fine art crafts. Atelier 6000 maintains one of the areas largest collections of original fine arts prints; showing prints by Françoise Gilot, (International artist) , Diane Divelbess, Native American Artists, Lillian Pitt and Rick Bartow(NW artists), Gendron Jensen (SW artist), Marlon Davidson (Midwest artist),  and Lawrence Yun (S. CA artist).
